Love Month…

This Valentines Season it’s nice to see how people find ways to make their loved ones happy. By just a simple gift or a bunch of flowers and by just a poetic letter or even a simple text or e-mail messages what matters is that they can make their loved ones feel important on that very special day of celebrating Love.

During the Love week (Feb. 9 – 14) I’ve been an observant on what other people think for or planning for. And let me share my observations.

First, I observed that usually lovers want to make the valentine day something worth remembering for whether they’ll make a reservation on exclusive restaurants, hotels or a resort. And others want their wedding to be on that exact date. As a proof I’ve heard a true story at work about a certain guy or girl who is complaining and being problematic because of his /her reserved flight has been cancelled due to weather condition and she’s/he’s worrying that he couldn’t make it for his wedding on the valentine day. But all’s well that ends well. He/she had been rebooked to a new fight which will able him/her to be on his wedding day.

Second, we Filipinos were finding our way of celebrating Love month. And it’s nice to know that because of that certain celebration called Valentine we find reasons to celebrate. Knowing us, Filipinos we are very fond of festivities and I can say that it’s actually not the month of May as the official month of celebrations for different fiesta’s it actually starts on the month of February. Wherein we celebrate Love for our partner, friends, family, relatives or whatever it is that we really love. Speaking of celebration I can say that my way of celebrating Love month is really good. I celebrated it by expressing my Love for Music. I watched a free concert in Mall of Asia on the Hearts Day with my sister Reena. And it was really awesome watching Rico Blanco, Spongecola, Bamboo and Pupil. Indeed it was a memorable experience for me.

To end up I can say that each and every one of us as a unique creation of God has our own way of showing our Love. Whether by a simple letter, text or e-mail message or an extravagant preparation for a date and even by just doing our own way of expressing our Love what matters is that we know how to Loved and be Loved. And I think that’s what Love month is all about.

Celebrations.

The great way to welcome the New Year is by just simply celebrating and having fun. Same with ending the Last Year, when the Ber-months comes that’s the start of different festive celebrations for us Filipinos. So let me share to you how I together with my family say goodbye to Year 2008 and on how we welcome the New Year 2009.

November 12 – my Lola Nena’s Birthday.
November 18 – my Lola Linda’s Birthday.
November 28 – that’s my Birthday.

So in our family we got started celebrating early in November.
And when the month of December comes it is noticeable that everyone has been excited for the upcoming events that the holiday season brings for each and everyone. I really enjoyed traveling while observing during the holiday simply because you can see different scenes that would really captivate your heart. The whole December becomes very enjoyable for me because I know that this season creates peace and Love with one another. While traveling as I go to work I can see people who are very busy working and I say to myself that he’s working hard for the upcoming noche Buena (as how I observed it). One time I saw a guy with a pure smile even if he had a heavy bag and I said to myself that even if its really hard to travel you can still see a smile on his face for he knows that he’ll see his loved ones when he got home to his hometown and that will be a relief to the tiresome travel that guy will be having (family and loved ones are worth traveling for you know). And I also witness different people who are very happy. For the primary purpose of the holiday season is to be happy. That’s why different parties were being prepared such as family reunion, get together parties, grand alumni homecoming, and a company or school Christmas party. Thus, let me share you how I together with my family and friends celebrated the holiday season.

December 4 – I partied all night with my friends on my former work. It was a celebration of the birthday of my friend’s mom but for me it was the perfect time for us to be reunited. The former enemies became friends again. And that night became memorable because we just spent the night full of laughter…we sang and dance all night.

The holiday season won’t be complete without the different gifts to be given to each other. As the saying goes..”it’s the season of giving”. So different bazaar and tiangge has been put up and provided by different malls and entrepreneur for the holiday season. And our family became a part of those shoppers. Two consecutive weekend of December, I together with my family went to Greenhills and Marikina RiverPark to shop and have a goodtime. We witnessed the mannequin play in Greenhills and I can see to my young sister’s face that she is really enjoying. In Marikina RiverPark we enjoyed the shopping for all of the products were very affordable. We also witnessed a singing contest being held at the park.

December 9 - I together with my new friends at our office attended our company’s Christmas party.

December 24 – me and my two sister attended the mass in Macalelon Quezon. The entire day was spent greeting each other a very Merry Christmas whether personally or via text.

December 25 – me and my high school friend meet again and celebrated. I together with Ira Secapuri, Sherwin Leynes, Ivan Samadan and Kevin Mendoza spent the night of Christmas together chatting and drinking. Even if we were not complete by that time we still enjoyed the company of each other. ( magkukumare at kumpare na kami by this time.)

December 31 – we were all busy preparing for the New Year. We make loud noise as much as we can. With the help of our music player and some fireworks. We got amazed with the spectacular fireworks being displayed. We ate the food that was prepared by our Mom. And I can say that welcoming a New Year was really exciting.

That’s what I’ve experienced this Holiday Season, a smiling person whom despite of his tiresome journey going home can still smile because he knows that his purpose of traveling is worth traveling for.Indeed Holiday Season is the perfect representation of how our daily Life should be, a day which is filled with Love, Unity and Happiness. May it always be a holiday for each and everyone of us.
