I had just finished reading Ricky Lee’s book entitled “Para kay B (O paano dinevastate ng Pag-ibig ang 4 out of 5 sa atin)” last month. It’s a story about 5girls having different love stories. The main character is a writer named Lucas who wrote those love stories and who doesn’t know how to end the written story. The character implied at the beginning that there is a quota in love. 1 out 5 girls will only be having a happy love story according to him. But after finishing the book I noticed that the protagonist seems to find it hard how to end the story and to defend the said quota in love. He reached the point wherein all of the female characters he wrote appeared and imaginarily talking to him complaining on the ending of their love story and asking for the main character to edit or revised the ending of each story. Many people who read the said book admire the writer he present the story very well. Realistic as it seems because it really happens in the real world. And he presents the idea outrageously. Declaring an idea at the start, but he does not defend it as the story goes he just site sample stories which seems to be true. And in the end he honestly wrote (as how I understand it) that he himself isn’t sure with the said idea without admitting it. And the ending of the story? Happiness, for all of the female character’s request to the writer was granted. Each of the stories had a happy ending.
I can say that it is really true that each one of us had a different love stories to tell but it actually depends on us how to give an ending to it whether it will be a happy or sad ending. Most people nowadays will agree on the said quota that there is only one girl among five that will be having the great love story. But that thinking is wrong. As long as we live we discover new things and we can create again a new love story or continue the previous love story we had before. Like in the story “ Para kay B”, the author presented the story intelligently. He doesn’t defend the negative idea of the said quota but perhaps in the end he delivers or shared much greater idea about love and how to deal with it by just simply inserting the magical scene wherein the female characters that the main character(the writer in the story) is writing appears imaginarily contesting for the ending of their love stories. And that’s the right way of thinking. If we had a sad love story, we can still contest and request for a happy ending on it. Happy ending doesn’t mean that the two of you would end up together if it does much better if not then maybe it simply means that its just a chapter of your life and that you have to move on and find another on who could be with you until the end of time. Always remember as long as we live life goes on. There is no ending, as long as we are alive.
And since I got inspired with the authors presentation of his five LOVE stories, here are my personal collection of five love stories from different people who shared their stories to me. And let me reiterate that these stories has no ending yet it’s just the beginning and the on-going process. The ending? Uhm, it depends to the lead characters how they’ll end their own love stories.
My first story is about a not so sexy friend of mine who fell in love to my best buddy at work way back then, before I wrote her story I had asked for permission to do this and she allowed me to do so but provided that her name won’t be included. That’s why I won’t name names. My circle of friends includes every gender that’s why it is expected to happen that a certain girl would fell for a boy and vice versa. And that’s what happened to my dear friend, she unknowingly fell to my best buddy. And sadly the guy didn’t give love in return. I witnessed the heartache that my friend experienced when the guy courted another girl and I was the one who gives her a shoulder to cry on. A sad story indeed but the good part of that is that my not so sexy friend learned to move on…
Second story. It’s about an elementary schoolgirl who gives love letters to her crush or puppy love if I may say so. During her younger years this little girl experienced to be neglected for the young boy way back then didn’t like her. But as time goes by and when they reach the right age they became lovebirds. And until today their love story is continuously on going. This was actually shared to me by one of my closest friend also,a young-looking lady whom you would mistakenly thought as an elementary student up to now.
The third story..is about patiently waiting for love. A funny and lovable girl during her college days find the love of her life. Their first meeting was on a jeepney while the lovable yet funny girl is on her way to school a certain guy kept staring on her as they were traveling and when the funny-lovely student reached her destination the guy bravely asked for the girl’s friendster account and that’s how they love story begun. They exchanged testimonials and messages and after a year (whatta long wait..isn’t it) the funny girl received a text message from an anonymous number saying hello and she mistakenly thought that the texter was the one who asked her cellphone number on a pice of paper at the jeep earlier that day/week that’s why she got surprised that the texter is the one who actually asked for her fs acct.a year ago. And the rest is history,up to now their relationship is going strong but a big challenge on their relationship happened. A month ago the guy needs to undergo training for a period of 6months and in accordance to the training is the fact that there will no cellphones and visitors allowed..as in no communication at all. And with that challenge the funny and lovable girl needs to wait for six months. But impressively the guy secretly call her whenever there is a chance. According to the funny girl, at least by this time she doesn’t have to wait for a year but half a year instead. And I’m proud to share that the funny but lovable girl is also one of my closest friend nowadays.
Fourth story. Is actually the story of the contestants in Wowowee’s willie of fortune segment. On this episode the players are those woman who got their first pregnancy at the age of 35yrs.old and above. And when Will asked one of the contestant why did their pregnancy had to happen at middle age. One of the contestant who got pregnant at 46 simply explained that she prioritized first her siblings because she is a bread winner resulting for her own family to be built on a latter time than expected (but still she had found the love of her life). While the other one said that she got traumatized to her former relationships and decided to be contented with a child and did not want at all to have a husband. But the others were so thankful for they didn’t expect that with their age they will still be given a wonderful blessing of having a child. Different heartwarming stories I’ve watched earlier in Wowowee! In accordance to this let me also share the thoughts of my seatmate a day ago. Same as the contestant she always gave up her love life to make her family happy. But she reached the point wherein she decided to think for her happiness also resulting for her to fight for her present boyfriend. Isn’t those stories amazing, some people had to sacrifice first their love life for the benefit of their families while others were fighting for their love and their happiness.
Fifth story. Is about my newly married friend. Before she got married my dear friend experienced a lot of heartaches also. Before she tied up with her groom she had actually a nightmare with her previous relationship. At first she had good times with her ex-partner and after a year of having a relationship many problems occurred, many questions bothering her and it ended with a big revelation. That even I couldn’t accept it at all. My newly married friend was neglected by her ex-partner (one of our friends also) and she was replaced by another human-being. The girl cried and got paranoid. Thanks to friendship, for all of us her true friend was there to support her. That could be a sad story but it doesn’t end there. For after a few months of the said incident my friend met again her childhood sweetheart and by then their love story continued and resulting for them to be united as one by God on their wedding celebrated last weekend. The celebration was fascinating it was filled with love and happy people and that includes me! I was happy for my friend for she already found her groom. She was a happy bride I can say that as how I observed it during the wedding. The guest were actually consisted of their highschool friends/classmates and our group the bride’s former and existing workmates.
With those love stories I can say that as long as we live we can create a new love story, modify our old love story and refresh our former love story. It will just depend on each and every one of us. Always put it in mind as long as we live the story goes on. Life goes on. And if we love life we can create/write the greatest love story of all and that can be your Life story.
